I just got a 91 eagle talon tsi awd for 500 bucks. It need a new clutch so i went ahead and got the ACT2600 and a ACT flywheel. I have a mustang cobra maf and i was wondering if it would work with a translator. I saw a thread about ford mafs but it didnt really help at all and it was from 2003 to.

I agree, that ford maf, while useful for some other ford applications, is completely useless to you for your talon, unless you know how to right software. LOL

I have read on here that GM mafs dont handle the boost to well. I dont know if thats true, but i know the cobra maf is made to handle boost. Its just getting it to work on the talon. But i guess it wont so ill get a GM maf.

Well it would be nice if there was a way to use it because its made to handle boost unlike the GM mafs.

The cobra maf is located before the supercharger. Even when using an aftermarket supercharger. But like stated if you want to use it go with a standalone and figure out how to wire it. Or just go with the gm like many people are using and has ben tested to work properly. You could sell the cobra and get a gm maf for really cheap.

Well i didnt buy the maf, my friend has it and said i can use it if i need it. But i really dont want to shell out the money for a standalone. So where can i get a GM maf and translator for really cheap. Thanks for all the help guys, that saves me a lot of time.

You can use ford MAF sensors with the Split Second ARC-2 air/fuel controllers. You don't see hardly any DSM's using them even though they make a unit calibrated for them. 3/S cars use them alot. Its useful with those cars because you can replace the stock MAF which is the same one as in the 2g cars to the higher flowing Ford or Granatelli sensors...
