So basically I am looking for some opinions here. I have a '92 Laser AWD. What are going to be some of the different aspects of having aluminized steel exhaust as compared to stainless steel? I am looking at having a local shop do it just for the price difference. Also I basically have a stock DSM but, looking to some decent upgrades in the near future(FMIC, fuel rewire, pump and possibly bigger injectors) I am basically looking to have a fixed up daily driver. Any other comments or concerns would be great.

Thanks

Im running 3" SS on my 92 FWD TSI with no cat, and it sounds amazing. SS is the way to go. Also There are some dicent exhaust kits out there for the AWD on ebay and such, their kits arent really all that bad and are pretty cheap. IT would prob. cost more at a muffler shop then to get a nice polised SS exhaust from Ebay or somewhere similar. I have a custom made exhaust but FWD turbo backs sometimes are pricey. The AWD exhaust is relatively cheap though, look into it. my 2 cents.

megan racing has a 3" 1G AWD cat-back exhaust, SS and they SHINE!

trying to get me a 3" turbo back but was told that i would have to fight boost creep, but when i do u bet its gonna be ss

i would just go with a 190 rewired pump, then you dont need an afpr and can save some money and time for other things like loggers link or w/e you may run to tune your car.

I second that, a wally 190 with a rewire (especiall when you're just starting out) should do you just fine. :thumb:

To the OP...if you have a local shop do it, the aluminized piping will obviously be much cheaper. If you want to search around on ebay, you can find a SS kit that should bolt right up with no problems.

Thanks a lot guys for all the info! It's really helpin' me make an outline for a daily driver.
