I've got all the top ones loosened successfully so far. There are the bottom ones that can be seen from between the pipes. There are a few of them. It doesn't appear I can get to them from the bottom because of the turbo. What's the best method for breaking them free?

I haven't taken mine off in a while, but im pretty sure I did the bottom ones with a large extension on a socket wrench..

i used alot of PB blaster, a universal and an extension. just be sure to soak them in PB blaster so you dont break the whole stud off.

If I recall, I just used a wrench. There was plenty, ok maybe not plenty, but enough room to slowly turn and remove those nuts.

I may have used a socket wrench for backup.

Just a heads up, those nuts are torqued very very low. I found out the hard way that hand tight is too tight. Stripped/broken head stud now.
Torque to spec, be precise.

Best way to do it is between the openings. Boxed rachet wrench of the appropriate size + PB Blaster + breaker bar should do the trick. The nuts are only torqued to 17lbs-inch.

Gonna go take a look now that my other half is home to watch the little one. Thanks fellas!

The box end wrench works fine with leverage bar over it. A socket or even a universal will absolutely not work. Thanks guys!

get a long extension and 12mm and they will came off easy:thumb:

That will not work, atleast on a 2G it will not. The manifold comes up to high and does now allow enough clearance for even a universal. The box end of a 12mm wrench worked great!

I use a rachet wrench it's the best way in my opinion or if you don't have access to that tool just use a wrench. (The outside ones you can get to with a deep sock and an extension but for the middle ones go through the top.)

This guy knows what he's talking about :rocks:
