new oil squirter washers flatten out when torqued.

Is it normal for new oil squirter o rings or washers to flatten out when they are torqued. are they fine as long as they don't break. The washer between the block and oil squirter doesnt flatten out, but the washer between the bolt and oil squirter flattens out. Its it fine to leave it? The torquing specs is 22 to 25 foot-lbs in my Haynes manual. It is called oil jet bolts.

Dont reuse the aluminum washers under the squirts as they deform so badly and are junk once you remove them. Torque them down once and forget it. If you reuse them you have a high chance of the bolts backing out.

Why would mitsu use aluminum washers and bolts on a cast iron block?

ok. this is what happened, I put on the new washers and the squirters were not lined up so the washers deformed and some split. Then I threw in some old washers and they deformed slightly. I guess I need to order a new set of washers. Do you think that is something that I can get at a local autoparts store?

Probably not, i've never seen them, so i dont know, but i will soon, when i put mine in.
