Edmonton,
Alright... so this is my first post ever... LOL> But I'm looking for some input as to what I should do first... Please look at my profile for current mods... (updated 2day) I'm planning on upgrading this week, and have a few questions.. I'm looking at installing cams (272/272 BC's) , possibly valve springs and retainers (BC's), fuel pump (255lph Walbro), injectors (??????????), possibly a fuel rail(?????????), FPR(?????????)... Cometic Head gasket w/ARP head bolts, Balance shaft delete KIT... And lastly something to control the added Injectors... DSKlink or comparable...

Now the question i have is... obviously the ??????? I'm not entirely up to par on the fueling system of these vehicles... =(
#1 what size of injector should I buy.....?
#2 what will i use to control them....? (DSMlink) i have a MAFT gen 2 right now
#3 is the stock fuel rail enough to support larger injectors....?
#4 are the stock feed lines from the Fuel Pump enough to support this HP...?

My goals are to be around the 400HP mark.... THIS WEEK!!!! hahah (I know that the current turbo will not support this HP goal, looking at upgrading right now...)

Also, when it come to VALVE SPRINGS, what should I spend my money on....? single or dual springs...? OR JUST LEAVE THE STOCK ONES....?

Also... What timing belt should a person go with...? I'm looking at a GATES Racing belt right now... Is it needed...? or just a waste of money....? IS STOCK JUST FINE...?

I appriciate all of your input and responce.... BE HONEST and give it to me straight... :thumb:

I'm not to good with fuel, so Ill leave that for someone who knows something, hah.

as for the timing belt, when was the lastime it was changed? it should be changed every 60,000 miles. If you have no idea when it was changed, I'd changed it, engine rebuilds are NO fun.

Honestly, that was hard to read.

I would look into upgrading your fuel setup first. Depending on how big your final goals are for the car (I know you said you want 400hp now) should depend on what upgrades you buy.

Once you decide what turbo you want to upgrade to (if you plan on that), I'd take a look at this link to help determine what pump and injectors you should get to support that turbo:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/tuning-engine-management/244522-injectors-fuel-pumps.html

Another thing to consider when upgrading turbos is do you want to go with a bolt-on or go with a full Garrett setup which will require upgrading more parts.

You can just go with a 255lph pump, an AFPR, and some big injectors if you plan on running DSMlink and you'll be set for almost anything you want to throw at it. If you go all out, get some 1150cc injectors. If not do a bit more research and see what people with your hp goals are running.

Upgrading the fuel rail is not needed as ours support almost anything you can throw at it. And the stock fuel lines will be able to handle that goal.

I would say upgrading head components (springs/retainers and cams) isn't necessary at this point.

You have a lot of parts listed up there. You need to figure out which parts should be upgraded before others so that you car can handle the upgrades. I see you have no logger listed in your profile. If you do plan on going with DSMlink, I would get that first. Then start working on your fuel system as that will be your biggest restriction.
