I'm replacing all of the hub assemblies. Front went smooth, back as well, but I'm not sure what this hose is. The car has ABS but on the front the lines were cut and capped by the prior owner. Is this ABS line? I need to remove it since I'll be puting new rotors on. How do I get it off without trashing it? I starting with a screwdriver but I'm scared to ruin it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Great thanks. It's awefully rusted on so I was hoping I wouldn't have to go there but I should have known it wouldn't be that easy. More PB blaster, and BFH I guess. I could really get a swing on the fronts and bash both sides, but the in the rear the dust shield is huge..

Anyway thanks for the fast help:thumb:

I freaking searched the crap outta google and the forums for a diagram of the rear brakes and come up with nothing. Havent had the brakes off my 2g yet, but it kinda looks like an emergency brake line.

Edit: Took so long searching it that someone else confirmed my answer before i posted LOL

I dont get it, what are you hitting with a hammer? The rotor? Hopefully youre replacing them then....

Theres a small clip right where the cable enters the spindle. Pull that clip and take a vise grips and work it back and forth until it pops out.

Section 9 of the Chiltons is going to be your friend.

Yeah I'm replacing the rotor. I did pull a clip off on the outside of the dust shield but didn't force the issue. I'll have to work with it more tomorrow. If that doesnt work, I'll be needing that dust shield anyway so I'll separate that from the rotor and then it should become clearer.

My car is 2 hours from where I live and I left my CD manual at home. Thanks again for the help.

Just an update: Once I got the rotor and the hub assembly off I didn't need to disconnect it. I just popped the new assembly in and bolted it back up. As usual I was trying to make it harder than it was:rolleyes:.
