I am 49 years old and been modifying my originally bought 1990 AWD Talon since 3,500 miles on the clock. I have 58,000 original miles on the body since new. I have just bought a set of 4 K-Sport Coilovers last week. I tried to post my question in the "suspension area" of this forum but failed being 9 post short :( I have FD wheels (RX-7) on my car. I have been running the 16x8 wheels which have a 50 MM offset compaired to a stock 67 MM offset from what I have read..... I am running 225/50/16 Hoosier Drag Radials. I know for a fact that I need "wheel spacers" on the front. I am guessing 15mm spacers as I have NO CLUE how to figure this formula :D All realistic help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED :D

I don't know much about offset but i just wanted to post and say Congrats on having your car that long. Looks like you take great care of it and hope it lasts you another 58,000miles. Keep up the good work man!

I am kinda modest here..........My 90 AWD has been sitting in my covered garage for the last 6 years :D Glad that you enjoyed it as I am very proud of it at this point :D I bought my AWD Talon new at the dealer on 8/17/89...........You gotta really appreciate the 1st generation AWD cars :D I have just spent HUGE money on my car recently being professionally done and installed and dynoed though Buschur Racing for a "Fire Breathing Beast" ...... Low 10's are the real world for me here..........

Please wish me some luck here :D

With only a 225 size tire, you should be able to get away with less spacer. I found this that says a 10mm spacer works with some grinding on the rear control arm.

Anything bigger than a 10mm spacer and you should probably look into the H&R hubcentric spacers, according to RRE (4th item down):

Road Race Engineering's Eclipse Suspension Upgrades

For reference, my evo wheels with 245 tires and a 38mm offset barely fit. Here's a good quick read that explains offset specific to 2g dsms:

Hope this helps.

I am happy to see 2 original DSM owmners here, I myself an original owner of '90 Talon AWD. I intalled D2 coil overs (similar with K-Sport) last year, my rims are Enkie RPF2 17"X8", 35mm offset and no rubbinh problem. You have a nice car, I'm assuming it is always being garaged just like my car. Mine is showing its age due to being a daily driver (190K miles).

Sweet '90 you got there also :thumb: I think the D2 and K-Sports are the same. My 16x8 wheels have a 50mm offset. Based on what you have would a 15mm spacer give me the same clearance from the front K-Sport coil spring and the inside of the tire? Does anyone know for sure? I have a new set of ARP extended wheel studs that will be put on. My car was dynoed and tuned by David Buschur. It put down 620 WHP and 559 pound feet of torque.
