Toronto,
I just want to make sure my car doesnt run lean or rich at any time.. is a SAFC I good enought to do this?

Yes the safc is a good tuning device and will adjust fuel +/- 30% I believe. However you have to monitor your afr which you could look at your fuel trims and/or your o2 voltage, but a wideband would be a much better solution. Stock o2 sensors are narrowband sensors, relying on voltage, and not to be completely trusted.

a wideband setup is like 500 bucks isnt it? Im not planning on having more than 340 horses/ i would go with a manual a/f controller and guauge if i wasnt seriously advised against it/

The cheapest wideband that you can possibly find new is on ebay.

$225 shipped to your door within 2 days from Titan Motorsports.

Also, you might want to pick up a logger. They are more useful than you think.

AFC will be more than enough if thats all you want to do. You can find them cheap all over on here and on dsmtrader.com

I would suggest a wideband but it depends on what size injectors your using as to if the safc will work or not. It will handle 550's well 650's is about the limit that you can tune without to much trouble. I've heard of people using the safc only for more than 650's so it can be done but it can be very difficult to get right.
