i have read the problem on this forum and saw the pics of how to fix the convertible motor. I took apart the motor and the pin was snapped in half. I used 3/32 x 1/4 tension pins and put everything back together and after the top going up and down twice the tension pins broke also. I tried using the coat hanger trick too and that was not strong enough. What can i use that will not break off in the hole???? and where can i get it. please help. thanks

i took both motors out im looking for a pin that will hold the load of the top...what kind of pic should i use? THANKS

I've had good results with heavy coat hanger wire. "Good" meaning they last a year or two before breaking again. I can detect when one is broken and fix it before the second one goes. If you are replacing them both with good, heavy-duty wire, and they are still breaking after a short time, you likely have something placing an excessive strain on them as indicated by Defiant.

thanks wret!!! do you know the measurements of the pin size cause i have tried a regular coat hanger and it slips right through??? are the heavy hangs thinker?
