Why are they so expensive i need a new one but don't want to pay the almost $300 for them.. and one know where to get a brand new one for a good price???

You have to look around. Try ebay, i've seen powdercoated valve covers there going for like $60-$80 bucks or check junkyards. You can also get the valve cover off early 90's sonatas, same vc just slightly different lettering.

I would definitely not buy a powder coated one from ebay. You never know if they sand blasted it first. If they did, you are just asking for trouble. Mine had burnt on oil and the old gasket still attached
it is far to easy for some guy to buy a whole bunch of valve covers, sandblast them, powder coat them, and sell them for $150 online.
