Thanks man, I found one for $20 on Craigslist :) Once I get it does I have to order a special cable & where in the car does it plug up to. Sorry for the dumb questions guys

Make sure it comes with the cable etc... The $20 I bought needed another $20 worth of parts to get working correctly.

thanks for the link, well I got the PDA but now I have to also find a cable that goes from a serial port to a usb. The cable that comes off the cradle has a 9 pin serial but I need a usb.

I think you're going to run into problems if you don't use a direct serial port connector. I always had that problem.

I picked up a DB9 to USB converter off of ebay for about $5. It was much cheaper than a new cable.

So now do I have to buy a pocket-logger cable for $99 start logging? isn't that kind expensive for a cable?

eBay Motors: DSM 1G Mitsubishi Datalogger Cable Eclipse Talon 3000GT (item 180227571589 end time Mar-29-08 16:52:22 PDT)

This looks like a good quality cable. It has the oem diagnostic plug and its auto-on, which means you can leave it plugged in. I have had great results with this type of cable.

So that's all I should need to be able to use my logger? I have a Palm M500 & a Palm Tungsten C would this cable be compatible with both of them.

Thanks for your help

Yes thats all you need. Its the cable and a few logging programs. The palm 500 is compatible, but i have no idea about the tungsten C. Load up the logging software on the palm, hook up the datalogger cable to the car, then hook up the datalogger cable to the hot sync cable, and plug in the palm. Then get familiar with the program; I prefer mmcd.

dam I'm probably gonna have to get a Hotsync cable also, cause all that came with the M500 was the Palm & cradle which the cable that is supposed to hook up to the computer is a serial port

Here is a pic of my palm with the cable, my laptop has the exact serial port as the cable shown so I think I would have to get some sort of adaptor?

Nope, you can use your cradle. The cradle should have the db9 serial connector(male) on which is what the datalogger cable has (female). You should be all set :thumb:
