3 weeks ago i bought a 95 Talon TSI awd. I paid 2400 for it. it was badly wrecked and had a lot of problems, but ran like a champ. Ive got the body fully repaired and working on loose ends. Im looking at buying a 99 gst. I want a more daily driver kinda car. Its in much cleaner condition then mine currently is. New engine. It is also a automatic FWD. I have never been in a turbo auto or know any one with one. Im wondering besides the obvious lack of awd, how does the automatic run with a turbo. Im not looking to go fast in this one just look nice and ride nice. The car is for sale for 6999, is this a good price for the car with a new engine which apperantlyt has 20 miles on it.

i have searched and searched and only find forums on swapping from FWD to AWD. I cant seem to find any basic pros and cons of the automatic. I get to test drive the GST tomorrow to get my own opinion. I would still like to hear a first hand account of someone with a automatic on how it compares in rideabilty performance gas mileage power bands and overall opinion versus a manual. My girl friend will be driving this car as a daily driver.

my lil bro has a auto gst...he loves it, i personally have never driven it but i know he hates to drive my tsi......probably becouse it blows his away LOL:talon:

I bought a bone stock GST Spyder automatic w/ 135k on it. shortly after the transmission went. I had it rebuilt with IPT parts. I also added a Big 16G w/ supporting mods. It is my daily driver. I drive it to work 30 miles each way. It is probably close to 300hp. I love it. It is fairly quick off the line, very quick with brake boosting. It will smoke the tires in first and through second gear. I'll be taking it to the track this spring just to see how it does. I get consistently 22 to 25 MPG.
