Just like it sais, I have a small boost leak in a vaccum line. It is at the 3 way adaptor where your boost gauge line runs to. My car started running rediculously faster at 5 pounds than it did at 10 or 12.:notgood: I need a tune. Could I possibly be running lean and the lower boost just has a better fuel/air ratio? Please Help!!! Any suggestions
Alex

Its possible, but saying your faster with a boost leakWTF.Fix the leak, and turn down the boost till you can pinpoint your problem

To me it sounds like you may have been running lean and with the boost lower you are not pulling as much timing. Get a logger if you are going to mess with the boost it is not safe to up the boost when you do not even know what the car is doing!

ok 1 slo 1g I am actually thinking about getting a seriuos tune very shortly. There is a guy by me that is so good. Mr. Peepers, so why would it then run better when there is no leaks in the vacume lines. I understand the reading being off, but i dont know about the performance. Thanks so far GUYS!!!!

Most people T the boost gauge into the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line, which changes the fuel pressure 1:1 with vacuum/boost to compensate for injector flow.

If you have a FPR vaccuum leak, the FPR will not increase fuel pressure as high as it should under boost (as Peepers said). Lower fuel pressure means less fuel. Leaner AFR might be increasing power. Maybe you're lucking out, maybe you're too lean and are pushing your luck. Or maybe it's just the lower boost gauge signal that was also mentioned. Play it safe, fix the leak, and get a tune.:thumb:

I talked to a really knowledgable guy and he recommended possibly getting a fuel filter change first. He said that the timing could have possibly jumped a tooth on the crank, seeing as i just had my t belt done. If that doesent help, the filter which I dont think really will that much. I will get a tune hopefully this week.

If any of those are causing your problem, you need to get it fixed before you get the car tuned. Otherwise, the tune will be off when you fix the problem. My $0.02
