Hey guys as you can tell I have an eclipse gst spyder, today a buddy of mine gave me some coilovers that look like the cheapo depo ones on ebay.... he gave them to me for free so I was wondering if it was even worth my time to put them on... he had them for his 96 talon but sold it so I think they fit my eclipse

they look like the ones on this link but they are red with gold perches, he said they cost $100
eBay Motors: 95-99 97 98 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE LOWING SPRING SCALE RED (item 320229360300 end time Mar-22-08 15:31:08 PDT)

keep in mind they were free...;)

Nope.

I put some of the cheap ones on a neon that i had and keep in mind I replaced the struts when i put them on and the struts only lasted for about 5 months. and then it rode like crap.

Id sell em on ebay. If you got em for free then its all profit and use the money to get some good ones.

The only suspension component branded the name "coil over" are the coil overs that are made by cusco, tein, omnipower and the other coil companies that make REAL coil over suspension.

But, to answer your question, I wouldn't put those slip on "coils" on unless its a ground control coil ,ade bu Eibach.

they have what looks like white letters on the spring but cant see what it says any more due to scratches and wear... the thing the perch goes up and down on is red like the springs and it has a single locking perch that is gold... they told me they were the old school skunk2 drag launch kit or something like that.

Skunk brand is pretty decent in my opinion, i wouldn't be afraid to run them.. I've got several friends running sleeve type coil overs, i even have a set myself. But the ones i got came with cheap ass ghetto springs that members on here alerted me to, so now i'm ordering a set of hyperco springs to go on the sleeves with my new tokico struts. There's not much to go wrong on the sleeve type unless they are so cheap the threads fold and let the collars move or the springs break, both of which could damage your struts..
