How can this be done? Do I need to buy anything to replace it or can I just remove it? What do I do about the lines that connects to the steering? Do I just plug it?

You can just remove every thing. The pump, belt, lines, and you dont have to plug anything. Im just wondering why you want to remove it???? It's a pain in the ass to drive that way in less its going to be just a track car. Take it from me i've done it. It's no fun drivren that way.

I'm not going to be driving it often. It can't be that bad, can it?. I've driven a mazda millenia with no power steering and it wasn't that bad. It weighs more also. How far do I disconnect the lines? Is it all the way to the steering bar? There is like 2 lines that go to the steering bar.

One is the pressure line and the other is the return line to the PS cooler.

Unless youre drag racing this car, its not going to be fun to drive.

There isn't a manual rack for a 2g, so your car with a system that's made for power steering will be even harder to turn than a car with no power steering and a manual rack.

ive seen a few 2gs in the junkyard with manual steering, they were all base model talons though. but they do exsist

You just about blow out a shoulder trying to parallel park it. The suspension design with two lower ball joints per side is a bi*** to maually steer but feels great at highway speeds. I decided to put it back on. heavy car

Yeah I'd recommend keeping it on.. My GSX Has no power steering, just a return system. I'm looking into putting it back on. It feels great while going faster than 5 mph, but doing things such as turn arounds, etc, are horrible. It's not that it's hard to pull, just the fact that it's really annoying to have to use both arms to turn it while sitting still.

Do it if you want. Im just sayin its not fun to drive without and you dont get that much out of it.

GOOD LUCK!!!-Len

Why do you want to do this? It's def. not worth the hassle of driving without it. It you leave the power rack in and just disconnect the lines, it is not going to act like a car that is originally manual steering. It will be much harder to turn.
