I am 75% sure I burnt my ecu by placing the positive and negative on the opposite terminals.
YIKES! I know.

So I just want my car in running condition. I was wondering if I can buy an eprom ecu, that will work with my car(98 5speed fwd). Just plug and play. Don't know how it works. I want to go for dsmlink, but not financially stable yet.

Or should i just buy a replacement ecu?

You'll need to switch plug wires with a 95 eprom ecu.

Pros: socketable for dsmlink
Cons: cost. It runs like 225-250 nowadays

non-eprom ecu
Pros: plug and play. CHEAP. like 20-40 bucks
Cons: well. can't socket it.

fwd or awd doesn't matter for ecu

Get a 2g FWD EPROM ECU, get your setup done and have the chip burned for whatever you want. If your wanting a street car get a good setup with fuel and an AFC, do a street tune and it will be a fast and reliable car. DSM link is expensive especially if you are "thinking" about installing it.
