good deal or not so good?

my buddy has on his race car a built head the ports on the exhaust and intake are ported to the max 272 cams 1mm over sized valves springs retainers and everything have been done to it he told me head sell it to me for 1600 the only thing is if i over heat the car and warp it i cannot shave the head id have to take the guts out and put them into another head. do you guys think its a good deal or no ? and how much power would i gain from this i know i could shift at 9k rpms all day long with this head thanks for the input

you could buy valves and springs for about a 1/4 of that then just put some money into a port job thats a rip off!

Like the guy said above, you could do this for less. Plus, It will have 0 miles on it. If you are seriously considering this head, see if he can drop the price some.

arent 272 cams like 600 for a set alone? how much would it cost to have the head ported to the max and with the 1mm valuves?

i say get the best deal for your money and get new parts...bad deal is my vote.

dont buy other used parts if there asking more or same as new.. that is way overpriced, if it was half that then maybe but I wouldn't I'd buy it new and know your quality of your parts..

How many miles are on the set up? I would say for 1k it would be a decent deal, thats without knowing the miles on the head and valvetrain.
