My timing belt jump a couple weeks ago and i just got a bunch of stuff replaced and installed, fired it up and this is whats happening.

But this is what it does, i start it, runs hard then shuts its self off. sometimes it will last longer than this.

Could it be a bad CAS?

also, when i took the head to carquest machine shop to have them put the valves and springs in ,one of the vales were sticking out like 1/16 out of the head on one side, and i asked them about it and they said it was all ok that it would work fine. Could this be my problem?
LET ME KNOW ASAP!!!!

so i think me and my dad are just going to take off the head again...and work from there.

AHHHH! im hoping everything is still good. we'll find out soon.

Is there some secret to doing the timing because ive been doing over and over and this still keeps happening.

ok we took off the head, everything is fine with the valves and pistons. so we put it back on. But you guys are mentioning something about the cams being 180 degrees out of place....could you please elaborate?

also i dont have a balance shaft belt....thats not my problem is it?

Piston slap? Thats the loudest piston slap I've ever heard! Sounds like the thing is going to throw a rod!!!

What they mean buy them being out 180 is that there are 2 notches on the cam wheels. if you have them lined up on the wrong notches, it could be out 180 degrees... and that means bad news. I had mine off one tooth and it wouldnt run worth a crap, then i figured it out, reset it and its still runing great

well there is one deep white notch then there is one lightly made notch, and i always had the notches that looked similar lined up together. i lined them up the same way befoer and the car ran fine.

But i have another problem now, my cam sprockets wont turn!! wtf, ive never seen this before??? help

and as for the balance shaft belt, when i first got the car, it didnt have one, and no engine vibration, then we put one on, didnt make a difference. so we are keeping this one off....or should we keep it on??

valves arnt bent though, we took off the head, took them to a shop to make sure, and they were good. I mean we were turning the crankshaft one min. then the next they wont turn. And thats when the crankshaft is lined up, but when its not lined up we can move em.

if you had the plugs in, it makes it almost imposible to turn them. I have heard of people taking the balance shaft out and not having problems. They make a balance shaft removal kit that you can buy. Thats probably the safest bet. If nothing is wrong internaly, try puting it back togather again. Make sure everything is lined up correctly. If you dont have a repair manual, get one. It says step by step how to do it.
