Rubber Trim

So I'm getting my car painted next monday. I am wondering what everyone with 1G's has done with that trim that goes along the car.

The rubber that goes along the middle of the door....Like should I take it off? Will doing that require me having to get it filled in?

Ok so the person that did my trim did one side yellow and one side black its crazy. What color are you goin with? that could be a big help.

It's just going to be the exact same color. But fresh!

Just repaint it black.

Have them paint the trim. or take it off and paint it after taht, the smoother the body lines the sexier it is.like 2g

That stripe takes a foot out of the visual height of the car. Keep it black. If you can just clean it, leave it at that. Ask the shop if they have any recommendation about refreshing or refinishing it. They'll also know whether to remove and repaint, or just mask it off.

But thanks everyone for saying repaint\refinish. I was not exactly sure what everyone else thought on it.

Out like in less. It makes the car look shorter.

ahhh ok. I gotcha. I'm going to leave it on, and take the advise on here about talking to them on how to paint\clean it up.
