I have the ETS Piping with my 1g BOV.
I had a huge leak there, Replace the old worn down gasket with a brand new one. No Sealent or anything else just a gasket, tighten this and tested again.

Same size leak.

What is the Correct way to fix this leak?
Do I need copper spray gasket stuff?
Some kind of sealent?
RTV?

Thanks!

Not saying you dont know your stuff.
But why is the reason to use this stuff?

Max Oil Resitance going with Air Leaks?

Anyway ill Make sure to use that.

Just a thin line around the edge post little rubber seal thingy.

Because it will create a nice strong tight seal. Use a fair amount. Don't skimp, but don't lather it on either. Use your head. A thin even layer on the entire BOV gasket (both sides) will do the trick. Don't forget to let it cure (aka dry) properly. (Just read the directions and you'll see what I mean.) Also leave about a quarter of an inch on the inner part of the gasket free of RTV.

I'm of the opinion anymore that virtually all of the aftermarket UICP BOV flanges will not seal using just the gasket. It's probably just as good to put RTV straight on the flange and save $2 on the BOV gasket. I know I had *two* Dejon flanges leak (first one also leaked at the TB flange (through the weld!), but I noticed the BOV leak too before I shipped it back...and the 2nd one leaked at the BOV flange, too...even with a gasket). Then I see plenty of posts like this.

permatex makes a gasket sealant, not rtv, that stays a little rubbery, its great for leaks like this, its called gasket sealant.

People have been using the RTV product for years and years and years and years and years as "gasket makers". It's a solid product. You can't go wrong. The RTV also stays "rubbery". ;)

Besides, Permatex makes quite a few gasket sealants, not just one kind.

Why make this a debate? We're all in agreeance that the Ultra RTV silicone sealant will work great. You're just trying to split hairs. The OP's question has already been given solid recommendations.
