out of no where it revs itself to like 5,000 everytime i start it

ok i finished my 4g63t swap and it started fine and everything but out of no where it revs itself to like 5,000 everytime i start it....i have to push on the throttle cable to lower the revs and turn it off...also my exhaust manifold smokes crazy any ideas why?:(
 
sounds like something is pullin ## throttle cable, check the fuel injector area , usually is where it gets stuck because of the wiring, ## mani is probably smokin ### of the oil & grease that always drips when workin on our cars, especially on a swap wich is alot of work.If it keeps smokin then I worry

how much smoke is too much?

That is correct... on both things. Check the throttle cable. And the smoke is most likely from some PB blaster/WD-40 that got on there while doing the install.
 
il rev it snap the trottle nothing i just hear air like when u have an intake...i got the stock one on though...i dont think any air is getting to the blow off valve......and yea smoke is from top of exhaust manifold..........wats the biss?

the biss screw is located on the throttle body, it's to the left of the hoses on top of the throttle body, should look like a phillips head screw try to adjust it if your still reving high. The smoke should go away it's probably from oil or something when you were removing it possibly put oily hand on it, and remove the tube going from the bov to the intake and rev it up a little and see if your hearing any noise, if not then take the bov off and see if you can open it manually, it might be stuck.
 
sounds like a vacuum leak check that the pcv valve is connected and the hose in the back of the intake manifold thats feeds vacuum to the brake booster
