OK, went to emmisons, and they said since its an 1997 all they do is plug it in and check for codes..... So does this mean I can go crazy and upgrade my exhaust to a 3inches plus get rid of the Cat... Or will my computer somehow be effected

The cat is controlled by the o2 sensor isn't it? So, if you take off your cat, the o2 sensor will see that and then..:beatentodeath:

If you go to emissions, put all or as most of stock you can put on it, then take it. :thumb:
 
As long as they don't do a visual your golden by the sounds of your state/counties emissons laws. And if you put in an O2 sim for your rear O2 sensor then your computer won't even know that its not there.
