I searched and was just wondering how many people installed this kit with the stock throttle body elbow? The main write up says that you need a 2g but i have also read about people haveing no prob. If you have any experiance with installing with the stock 1g elbow can you help me out. Thanks!

Are the 2G TB elbows a simple bolt-on on a 1G (gasket and all)?? Or are some slight modifications needed for it to fit?

OK, someone help me understand....

I did some more research, and as you said it is a straight bolt on on a 1G. The other threads said the stock 1G intercooler hose won't fit over it though, hence it is only recommended when you are running larger than stock intercooler piping on the 1G.

As such, does this mean the 2G elbow does nothing to improve performance if you have stock IC hose/piping and an otherwise stock 1G?

What also confuses me from what I've read is that although the 2g elbow piping is larger than the 1G elbow piping, the flange that bolts to the throttle body on the 2G elbow is smaller than that on the 1G elbow (52mm vs. 60mm). As such although the 1G elbow starts smaller, it gradually increases in diameter at the flange to 60mm, whereas with the 2G elbow although the piping is bigger, it ends up being smaller at the flange than the 1G.

If so, won't that make the 2G elbow effectively more restrictive than the 1G elbow on the larger 1G throttle body?

The 2G elbow has a smaller I.D. than the 1G elbow where it connects to the throttle body. The 2G's piping, however, is larger than a 1G's by over 1/4". The 2G elbow is designed to mate to the 2G's 52mm throttle body where the 1G throttle body is 60mm....you'll be effectively bottlenecking your piping by almost 3/8" by using the 2G elbow on the 1G throttle body.

The best way to go is to find a 2.5" throttle body elbow to fit your piping. Normally the elbows are included in most intercooler kits- you may be able to contact DeJon or SBR to purchase one seperately.
