Guys. I REALLY need help getting this O2 housing off. Basically I'm removing the engine. One of the tasks before removing the driveshaft is removing the exhaust system. The problem is that my car is SO rusted on the exhaust. Those big bolts that connect the O2 Housing and the downpipe are a B---- to get to. I've tried all kinds of things.

I first tried getting the bolts off. That didn't work. Then I tried removing the exhaust from the O2 housing connections. That almost worked except that damn bolt on the top most part of it is stripping. This is SOOO frustrating. It's actually almost discouraging.:talon:

I mean guys. This thing is stuck hard. I've heard of guys soaking them in PB Blaster for a week straight. I mean maybe I'll try that, but I just haven't had much luck.:talon:

I would say drive it to a local tire shop and tell them to loosen it, but I think alot of parts are already off the car. My other way is if you know someone who has an impact wrench, or compressor tool, borrow it from then.

Oh, did you try spraying some PB blaster on it, or some freeze off? Get a long braker bar, have a friend help you out by pulling on the bar and you supporting the it so that it wont fall off and strip the head.

If for some reason that wont work and you are removing the engine, could always try and unbolt the turbo from the manifold. Then once the m otor is out you will have alot of room to get in there and work on that o2 housing and exhaust system

I agree with spooln4fun. Unbolt the turbine housing from the exhaust manifold, disconnect the WGA arm, then remove the band clamp holding the turbine housing onto the center section. Then if you can disconnect the DP at the other end (easier said than done) then you can take the whole damned thing to a vice with a 25 foot breaker bar :p

The risk with this is that you may break a turbo-mani bolt or strip it out. PB blaster is your friend...and a breaker bar...and a hammer.
