here i have couple question.
my mod
16g w/mani,intake, turbo back, fmic w/2.5'' pipe, and with these mod i can run pretty strong until full boost then i get some kind of stutter from engine, and don't know why.
my goals are to try and get rid of that stutter from engine by upgrading my fuel to a 190 walbro lph, 550 cc, with safc neo to tune it b/c i think i might need these. so does anyone think by upgrading my fuel will help a bit? i want to get dsmlink but now I'm short on cash and just want to drive it without any more mod to it. plan to sell soon maybe.

do i have to get more mod to make it run right?

anything will help
thanks in advance

OK,man. I just had the same problem. Pull all of your plugs and gap them to .024 I really think this will help you out.how much boost are you pushin?

This is not his problem, you obsiously need to so some searching yourself.

To the OP your problem is that your are hitting fuel cut. The way to fix this is to upgrade your fuel pump and injectors. You will also need something to tune thses injectors. Like DSMlink or a AFC. What are your goals for your car? So I can suggest what fuel mods to get.

OK, well thats really not to much. You can safely go to 15psi on your motor without fuel upgrades. Did you put new plugs in? Did you gap them to spec? Check your wires. I dont believe fuel is an issue for you yet.Is your car running rich?

^^^ maybe it is fuel cut a 16g is a decent size bigger and moves more air than a T-25. You can use a GM MAF and translator to compensate for the 550's once you get them. It wont be "tuned" but it will compensate for the injectors.

i would go ahead and spend the few extra bucks and go with a 255 but that studder sounds like fuel cut. maybe check the fuel filter.

Its not really needed depending on his goals, its been proven that the 190l fuel pump can support 400hp. Plus with the 255l pump you need to buy a AFPR.

To the OP, dont gap your spark plugs to .024. Gap them to .028. What type of spark plugs are you running? You shouldnt be getting fuel cut on 10 PSI. I would start looking into your ignition. Try a new set of spark plug wires and some NGK plugs gapped to .028. Also changing the fuel filter isnt a bad idea either.

Im not saying it is fuel cut but my friends laser hit fuel cut on 10psi on his s16g. we rewired the pump and swapped gm maf and 550's and no more bucking and hesitating. If he does go with a 255 he will also need an afpr. A 190 and 550's will be enough fuel for the 16g. Plus the op said he may sell it so no sense in putting money in a car hes not gonna be keeping.

yes i really think i need injectors an pump with safc neo, that's what i'm going to get soon and just wondering if that will take out the studder. i have no big plans for this dsm due to personnel issues but would still like to beat on it to from time to time. (if i can make it run right again).
again, do you think the safc neo can tune it right without any wideband or datalogger?
(remember i'm short on cash) or is the safc enough to tune it for my 16g w/mani. and my fuel?

You should atleast get a logger. Turning up the boost without being able to monitor your car is a bad idea and could lead to a blown motor. Yeah the neo should work fine. It dosent sound like you want to go nuts with this car so I would suggest just getting a 190l fuel pump and some 550's, which will allow you to push about 20PSI. Also remember you got to pay to play. So if moneys really tight right now you might want to hold off on upgrading and save some money so if something does break you can fix it.

My car did the same thing, but I was stock. My front o2 was bad. I replaced that and it cleared up. I should have known because it was getting horrible gas mileage. +2 on the boost leak test too. I did that at the same time as o2 replacement. (But didn't find any)

dsmtrader.com is a good place to get parts.
extremepsi.com has always worked out well for me too

as far as the parts this is just what I've used and liked, not the best out there but it will give you an idea

afc = just look for Apexi SAFC-2 on ebay or dsmtrader
pump = walbro 190
injectos = dont go higher the 660cc if your going to use an afc to tune, I have Sieman Deka brand and they seem to work fine
wideband = PLX Devices is what i use and like
other gauges = glowshift gauges are really cheap and seem to work fine

Wow, there is some fishy information flying around in this thread.

If you hit fuel cut, believe me, you would know it. Without a seat belt, normally you'll take a bite out of the dashboard. So it's not that.

Instead of throwing parts at the car like some have suggested, start with basic maintenance. Plugs, gapped to 0.028", wires (if necessary), boost leak test, fuel filter, etc.

It doesn't really matter what kind of parts you throw at your car. That won't solve the problem at hand. Do the maintenance, check your plugs and, for christ sake, do a boost leak test! You shouldn't be hitting fuel cut at 10psi, bottomline. The first time i hit fuel cut was at 17psi on my stock fuel system.
