Ok long story but please read before i sell my precious talon.(crankwalk?)
Car is 93 talon with 94 motor and 90-92 trans.Mods in profile. So my stock clutch went out about a month ago due to "rear main seal" so we replaced rear main seal and noticed some leaks in the trans so bought the new 90-92 trans.I chose the act 2100 kit with streetlite flywheel.
We put everything back together, and as soon as i got my car back it had this little clutch chatter when i was taking off.Didnt think much of it cause it wasnt bad.I did the 500 mile break in safely(i swear).I go to do a 3rd gear pull on the high way and it gave out around 3500 so i put it in 4th and it held all the way up..?I pull over to see if it would hold 1st
or 2nd and it held neither and gave out around 3500, just to make sure i did a couple more 4th gear pulls and it held.
So i take it to the shop to have them rip it apart but before we do we checked all the hydraulics and checked where the clutch fork engaged.Someone reccomended i check/adjust the pedal height; i did multiple times with no luck.so the shop ripped it all apart to find out that there was no obvious reason it was slipping, though the clutch disk broke in a little weird( some parts are still shiny, see pics).
They said i have crank walk and thats what caused everything.I have never had problems with the clutch sticking or even changing positions with a hard left turn. And i tried to move the crank pulley today with a prybar and no movement(maybe i wasnt doing it hard enough?)could this be crank walk or something small overlooked.
LAST THINGS
flywheel bolts had lock tite.
everything was torqed right.
notice the springs on the disk looked like they were spinning around by the way their worn.
hydraulics checked.
no step height needed (combo package).
clutch pedal and pressure was always consistent.
***The 2 dowel pins that hold the tranny and motor aligned, well i only found one on there when i got the car back.( I heard this could be the cause of everything?)***
Please help, car is for sale as we speak
Im about to buy a slow a$$ 240
