The part where you screw the oil filter in to on my 1g 4g63 is leaking horrible, non running and running it will leak out onto the driveway. Is there a bypass kit or a way of replacing it without killing my wallet? Thank you in advance

If you crushed the cooler installing the oil filter, you'll only leak oil into the coolant. It sounds like either the spline (the big bolt looking thing with the threads) needs tightened or the gasket is shot. I think the spline takes a 23mm deep well socket, but don't quote me on that.

+1

Did you lightly oil the gasket when changing the filter? With that much leakage, I'm guessing you've ripped the gasket, or the center cooling unit bolt has backed out enough to break the gasket seal.

Unless you have oil and coolant mixing. Then you're gonna need to replace the filter housing.

my eclipse is doing the same thing just not so severe it only dose it after you drive a little and park it.... it will leave a puddle of oil about 5-6 inches in diameter I have lost about a quart of oil in about 1.5 months and I dont know what the hell to do.... they changed the oil where I rebuilt the car after the first 500 miles and its gradually been getting worse it use to only be little drops about 3 or 4 now its like a puddle of oil... and the oil pan is wet with oil as well.... please let me know what you do to fix it.
