Man did this puppy come unglued . . . no kidding - on a coast down around 3500 rpms. Suddenly, a vibration, then smooth. Then, a violent vibration for an instant, & BANG !

Check out tht pix . . .

Looks like the block sheared so bad, it cracked a transmission mounting boss -

Judging by the wicked vibration just before the lockup, I`d say something let go. I felt a minor vibration about 2 miles before it happened, I thought it was a tire going flat or something.

I`m gonna pull it apart next weekend. I`ll post pix of the carnage . . . :talon:

Well, glad to see you keeping your head up. Some guys come on here and bi***. Thats when we get posts like "i hate DSMs, they suck and blow up blah blah blah"

Thats some crazy looking problems. With the assembly still rotate?

Locked up tight . . . looks like it`s time for a 6 bolt, it`s just the best solution at this point.

Ok everyone :
Can I have some opinions on good places/shops to get a solid assembled 6 bolt short block, maybe a stroker? I was planning on re-using the stock 2G head & intake manifold just because ecominically, they`re ok (from what I can see now).

Gimmie some opinions guys . . .

Thanks :talon:

I know you're probably trying to pinch pennies, but if you compare the port size of the 1G head and intake manifold to those of the 2G head and manifold, you'd be a fool not to bolt those 1G parts on at this time as well.

I know that the 1G stuff is better, & after I think about it all week before the weekend when I rip it apart, I`ll probably decide to go with a complete 6 bolt setup, probably a stroker. I`m not really pinching pennies at this point, it`s just that the timing of this is bad right now.
I just need to research some info on where to go for the motor, etc, that`s why I would like some input from you guys . . . Who has a good 6 bolt long block stroker ready for a
2G? :talon:
