225/ 50 R17 On a 91 AWD?

Ok, I thought about this because I want to get a better ride quality (shitty roads here) and it would also correct my speedo (which is reading 60 when i'm actually going 55)

At the moment I'm rolling on 215/45R17 (which is the recommended size for 17")
I wanted to know if 225 / 50R17 would scrub on the suspension ou fender or would upset anything in the suspension.

I don't think that tire size will fit under your car. Your best bet would be to drop down to a 16 inch wheel if the roads are that bad. You can also change out the suspension to some thing softer if you'd like to make it easier on the wheels.

That tire size won't fit. It will rub on the struts in the front, right where the bottom of the spring sits. I run 225/50R16's on my 91 AWD and I don't think you could go any taller without rubbing.

yup they wont fit. i had got a set of cooper weather masters for my car from a buddy and they only would fit with 1/2 inch wheel spacers. but then they were putting too much strain on the studs.
