That chart looks pretty far off compared to how the HID kits will actually look. 6000k is a light blue, 8000k is a deep blue almost purple.

I've got 8000K cool blue ones in my car. They look almost pure white. While the charts are a good start, it's probably better to look for on on the manufacturer's site. My 8000K look like the 6500K in the first set and the 5000K in the second set. They're the sylvania cool blue ones.

I don't think Sylvania sells hid bulbs..those are halogens not hids..

Sorry, true. Mine are halogen. Thought the colors would still match though. Kelvin color is standard no matter what the setup. Because of this, my 8000K halogens should be the same color as a 8000K HID setup. The only difference is the brightness.

Also, make sure the HID setup is DOT certified. There are HID and halogens whose colors are so tinted that they are illegal for road use. I know, my buddy got busted for it.

they dont make 8000k halogens. I personally have 6000k HIDs and they are my favorite, very white with a slight blue tint.

The only way to know how white/blue they will be is to look at the manufacturer's site and see what their color standards are. Any chart we provide you will just be approximate. As you see they are all different. They usually have example pics there. Also, if you've got a specific brand/color that you'd like, ask for pictures of that specific setup. You'll get pictures of people's actual setups installed. These charts mean next to nothing.

I dont know what the big deal is with just makeing them all the same. It would make a lot more sense to do it that way anyway.

The kit I bought, I got from a buddy that sells them for his job. I bought them cause they were the same ones he had on his car. I'm going to ask him if I can get a comparison picture, and then i'll post it to give people more of an idea.

You can go as high as you like on the color temperature. The only thing it changes is the color. The more color, the less light output. The most popular color temp I sell is 8000K. The best light in my opinion is the 6000K.

All the cheap kits usually come with an extra harness, relay and fuse to draw power directly from the battery so they don't burn up you factory wiring.

My suggestion would be a kit with a high quality digital ballast. They have very low "turn on" or "ignition" power compared to the cheap kits. This lets them be 100% plug and play without the fear of damaging your factory wiring.

My 8000k are white as hell. No blue at all.

simple answer, you dont have 8k if theres no blue.

FYI: Pure white is 4200k.

5k is my favorite.

Most stock cars use around 4300 to 4500, which is basicly pure white. The purpish tint you sometimes see is because of the projectors, not the light bulb.

If you get 12000k HIDS, They will be purple. The higher the number, The worse the light output.
