i am going to be making my own exhaust out of 3 inch stainless my dad and i can both tig weld i was wondering while i am out buying the parts as to what kind of muffler to go with i like the way the n1 looks but am not sure if that would be incredibly loud all by itself out there on the end... anyone running anything similar??? and would throwing in another muffler before that hurt??? if i was to go that route???

i am getting rid of my n1 cause i just bought a thermal..there's nothing else out there that sounds as good as the thermal r&d exhaust..but magnaflow sounds great too

Generally, an oval style muffler will be quieter than a round style because of the amount of sound deadening material. A cat will quiet it down some if you're going to run one, or you can always add a resonator as well; a second muffler will have the same effect.

ok i got on youtube and a couple other websites and listened to a couple sound clips and the thermal did sound about the best i didnt find any borla systems though... can u buy just a thermal r&d muffler??? do they have a website??

Alot of people on here have really liked the ebay exhausts. They said the sound was great. I have noticed that you can buy just the mufflers. Maybe you should look in to one of those. You can get them pretty cheap on there.

Yeah but its also one of the most expensive exhausts out there. Even though alot of people run them, I just dont see it being worth spending $600 plus on an exhaust when your going to have the same horsepower increase with a $300 exhaust.

To the OP just check out ebay. On are 4g63 cars the exhaust tone is going to sound vary simular. Weather you spend $300 on a muffler or $50.

I have the megan racing cat back from ebay and for the price its great. Good solid welds, and easy and quick installation. The sound is good too.
