My guess is the turbo. The engine has 120 miles since rebuild. The turbo is still the stock one. Looks pretty high mileage. It does have shft play I checked when I rebuilt it.

Check around your clutch&flywheel it sounds tinny like the dust cover or center plate are hitting somthing. Also check your starter, if it's loose it could be banging into somthing back there.

It only makes the noise on deaccelation either engine breaking or just a no load deaccel. I do have a little noise when ideling sounds like the turbo complettly different noise very faint kinda a slow sqweeky noise like the turbine brushing up aginst metal. Pretty much everything is brand new in the engine, along with a brand new flywheel new clutch new throwout bearing. Im just scared if its the turbo the turbine blades or what ever else coming apart and making its way through the IC and into the manifold and further. Ill be happy if its the turbo cause thats my excuss for the parents for a bigger one.

It doesnt sound like interenal engine noise does it?

thats deffinately not internal...did you check your flywheel gaurd and starter like tgmx1 said? if so you might wanna take a look at your exhaust system too...heat shields and stuff. It sounds like its a rattle, and comes from vibration:dsm:

Ill be checking that once all the snow melts off it and it warms up in a few days. pretty cold out here and shity. Im not driving my car anymore till I find out what that is. Im just trying to find out all the possibilitys and check them all this week when it warms a bit. Oh and all the heat sheilds are off exept the manifold sheild.

:dsm:I bet Michigan is shitty right now...but like i said about vibrations, can you feel the noise? i would get either the pointer stethescope or a big screwdriver and just touch it to different shit while someone revs it, and when you finally touch the spot thats getting hit...you will know, it'll be loud as hell:dsm: good luck, keep me up on it
