still having ignition breakup

Okay, I am still having fire issues. It's not just picking up random misfires from the whole 1g CAS and 2g ECU thing, either. The fuel issue came down to putting a new fuel pump in. I can now make it to about 2,500 rpm before the engine starts bucking and spitting. The only thing I can think of now is if it jumped time. How prone to time jump are 1g engines? It runs good until you get on the gas to that RPM, then it starts this. I have a boost leak, too (BOV). This is the first thing everyone is going to tell you. Fix the boost leak first then report back. Depending on how bad the leak is this could be your problem.

Have you tried replacing the plugs and plug wires?

The plugs and wires have about 1,500 miles on them. NGK plugs and NGK 8mm wires. The breakup has gotten better with the installation of a new Walbro 255lph high press. fuel pump. With the boost leak, the only thing that has changed is that the car revs faster. Thats how I noticed the leak in the first place. I have boost set at 30 psi, but it reads 3 psi with no creep. Could it have jumped timing during starting the engine? It needs a new timing belt anyway (don't know how long its been on there, but to make myself feel better about it I am going to change it). Would a coil on plug setup along with resetting the timing remedy this?

Coil on plug won't fix your problem. You can check the timing marks pretty easily then, get that boost leak fixed and then we can move forward from there.
