So, I know how to install the turbo timer. What I was wondering is what wires are a must to be installed.

I got a harness that came with the tt. It has the red, blue, and green wires that you plug under the steering column. Also there is a black wire for the ground. I wanted to know if you can get away with just putting in these wires and not doing anything with the brown, purple, and grey wires?

You should probably connect these wires or you will run into problems, read the instructions unless they're in japanese symbols like mine were. You can go online to get English instructions.

I'm guessing you don't need to install the purple wire as it's just for a speed input (not exactly sure for what).

Edit: I just looked at the description and supposedly this is another safety hookup so I'd recommend wiring it in. I believe this might also be used in the mode that automatically determines a suitable countdown time according to your driving time and habits.

You should install the brown wire as that is the e-brake wire. This tells the turbo timer that if someone hops in your car while the turbo timer is running and they put down the e-brake, it'll automatically shut your car off.

And the gray wire is not used in the US so you should just cap that off and tuck it away.

Here are the instructions if you need them:

is there a write up or a how to on how to install the TT and the Profec B II? it came with my car and its not installed and i want to install them both. can some one PM ME the instructions or something?

Thanks
derek

Just for future reference of people looking to install one of these. The only wires needed for this to work are, the red, blue, green, and black. The brown and purple are safety wires, and not necesarily needed. If you live in a bad neighborhood, I would install the brown one for the e-brake, or else you might have your car stolen.

So all you need is to ground out the black wire, get the harness for the red, blue, green and plug it in. Install should take about 5 minutes if you have all your supplies.

I just wanted to share a pic of where I mounted it. What do you think?

I actually took longer to choose where to mount it then actually installing it.

Ya, thats where I first planned on mounting it, but it was so tempting and easy to hide the wires, I couldnt help myself.

i have mine hid under the dash too, looks more stealth and it's out of the way. it's really easy to hook up the brown wire, and it's a really good safety feature, so hook it up! the purple and the gray don't do anything necessary, so I capped em off

Funny where you guys mounted your TT cause I mounted it in the exactly same places. Very first install I put it under the dash next to the hood release, then I put it atop the steering column, now it's under my CD player. Under the dash was nice, but then it started falling off once the velcro got worn, and on top of the steering column was too in the open for me. With it beneath the CD player it's out of the way and hidden.

I haven't had a problem with the TT itself until now though. Recently the blue led I'm thinking busted because it's no longer lit up at all. The red led still shows up when it boots but that's it.

yea i had mine mounted on top of the steering wheel also, but i got tired of the blue light blinding me during night driving. i cut out a hole underneath the steering column where it look like a speaker should be. right where your left knee is. i have no problems with it there and its out of my way and no one can see it. if you want that stealth look (sleeper).:dsm:
