Once again here I am posting in the Newbie forum.

I have a war going on with Manley Pistons. Manley has excellent support from many vendors. There are made with great quality and are a work of art.LOL. I have heard great things from all the V8 torque head friends of these pistons. But what about in the import word. Kyle at manley says they sponsor SBR rally car and Many Honda's as well. Does anyone have first hand exsperiance with these pistons? Thanks in advance....

Yes, I highly recommend them, they are better than some of the others out on the market, like Wiseco and JE if you have the $$$$ to spend then spend it on Manley.

Sorry my mistake I misread the thread and though you where talking about rods, also look into Mahle.

I wasn't aware that Eagle or Scat made pistons. I was asking about The pistons from manley. Eagle deals with Arias and Scat deals with Wiseco and JE. Have you used Manley pistons before. They seem well machined and Seem pretty tough. I know there valvetrain components are awesome. I am ready to buy my pistons and I would like to see everyones thoughts of Manley Pistons

Yeah, I think im getting them. Im also going to see if they would cut me a deal on Rods and Pistons for a combo buy. Thanks for all the help. I'll post when I have them up and pumping

I wouldn't go as far as saying their a "better" piston then Wiseco or JE. If anything they might be on the same level of quality.

Awesome, how was the price on them? DId you buy the Rings they gave you or buy bigger and resize them? I'll Pm you the same ### I don't get on here much. Thanks. I am very interested in the Pistons, Im calling today to see if they offter the Rods with the pistons for a combo. I hope so. Thanks again. Makes me want them even more....

I was at Manley Performance Products manufacturing facility last week in Lakewood NJ - all I can say is WOW - just WOW. Their parts are second to none in quality, and to be honest the pricing is low on the pistons right now only because they are trying to break into the market a bit more with the Mitsubishi's and Subaru's.

These pistons should sell for $499.00 retail -

The new pistons will be out in about six weeks with the skirt coating. We tested the coating last year at X games in the rally car and have nothing but good things to say. So they will be in production soon.

However, I do agree with you - we have been selling Wiseco for four years now, and they are a fantastic piston as well. You would not go wrong with Manley or Wiseco pistons.

Slowboy

I bought mine dirt cheap from slowboy last year... They are great, and have handled a few beginner tuning mishaps very well... such as my 15 degree base timing 20-40 count real knock WOT runs. I bumped the cas at one point or another... possibly didn't have the pin grounded correctly when setting base... none the less the pistons and rings are still sealing and running solid. I am looking forward to stress testing them this summer.

Either way you are going to have a nice setup. Just make sure the crank can handle whatever you throw at it. Ive heard of people going with nice rods and pistons with a reground crank and they break. I think Eagle makes them for 700 bucks.

Yeah, I thought about The cranks but I have seen a lotta people go high hp with low numbers(1/4). Im just pulled between two ways. I wanna finish this spring but I don't know. I hope I can. Obviously, from my setup I haven't saved much.LOL. Anyway, I am getting the manley pistons. I have got that far. Now it is weither I can get them through advance auto for the same cost. Joe from Slowboy can get them but I can get them cheaper through Advance auto. So what am I saving? nothing..... But I just want this engine done. so now I have to worry about the crank. One thing after another.LOL. Life of a DSMr.
