Engine is blown (120k miles). Clogged fuel injector caused detonation under high boost, damaging the piston, cylinder wall, probably rods and bearings. Sparkplug became a thousand pieces, part of it got stuck in the exhaust valve, which got partially melted(!) Stock t25 is probably gone too, although that is not certain just yet.
Car is 95, fwd auto. Mods: full 3” all the way, boostgauge, MBC, Solid IP.

I know a shop in town, they have been racing and dealing with talons for many years. Now they are the best viper shop in the states. Anyway, they have bunch of 7bolts sitting around, with unknown history/miles, although my mechanic can go thru one of them, completely rebuild it, putting possibly forged pistons, big 16g with external wastegate and FMIC.
Any ideas or suggestions on following project? Any feedback would be appreciated

All I can say is that you shouldn't rush anything. I'm all against swapping a perfectly fine 7bolt for a 6bolt, but I'm all for swapping a 6bolt in for a blown 7bolt. It's really up to you and how comfortable you feel. Read research and repeat a few hundred times before you jump into something:thumb:

If you are going to rebuild I would recommend removing/installing your engine yourself if you have the space, tools, and are mechanically inclined. This will save on some labor costs. If that scares the crap out of you then yea take it to someone to do all the work, because if you get started and then take it somewhere they are going to have to figure out what all you did prior to bringing it to them. And they probably won't cover the work since you had your hands in it already.
