Hey guys when my motor warms up I get a burning odor and smoke comming from somewhere in the exhaust manifold, o2 housing, down pipe area.

The car idols well until I go out and drive it hard, then it bogs down and the rpms begin to fluxuate while stopped. But as soon as I get the rps back up it drives fine. If I drive the car hard for more than 5min it will die at stop signs.

Maybe related is the fact that my A/F guage slowly climbs from off to max rich as the car warms up and never cycles like it is supposed to.

No smoke at all until boost! And then all the smoke is coming from the gasket area between the o2 housing and downpipe. What does that mean?

Mine was just all the lubricants, gasket sealer, spilled liquids from putting my motor together, it stopped after a few more hard miles.

So i've just noticed that this happening to me too. But not under full boost or anything. Ill be just sitting in my car and letting it cool down or something like that, lift up my hood and its smoking from the lower heat shield area. Maybe its not tight enough or something. But this has happend once before in winter but i thought it was because it was cold.

SHould i take of my exhaust manifold and redo the gaskets or what?
