So i just bought my 99 eclipse gsx, so after cleaning it i took it for a drive with my brother and when i was shifting i noticed a squeak and then a "ek ek ek" sound from my car. When i got home i was trying to find where it was coming from my clutch pedal. I noticed every time i pushed it in, it squeaked and when it came up it made that creaking noise. So i lubed up some of the parts i thought it was coming from, that didn't help at all. it sounds like its coming more from inside the clutch pedal? if that makes sense?

I dont think its affecting the driving at all it just is REALLY annoying. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

my pedal started crunching last night, I'm sure it's bent due to the heavy pressure plate. still works great, just every once in a while has a crunch/pop noise coming from the assembly.

I have a similar problem.
When I press the pedal, I can hear it moan a bit. Only noticable with no music on and when paying attention to it. Halfway it makes 1 or 2 creaking sounds. Like breaking a big cookie but then much louder. Or no, maybe more like breaking a big carrot.. Ah well you get the idea.
The clutch disengages quite low at the pedal travel (need to adjust the rod probably) but shifting goes fine. When letting the pedal come up, no additional sounds (no moan), but again somewhere halfway 1 or 2 creaking sounds.
When I had the car on a bridge I had someone in the car who kept pushing/releasing the pedal in an attempt to locate the sound. I couldn't pinpoint exaclty where the sound came from, but I did notice it's from somewhere around the pedal itsself. With the car down on the ground again and the hood open, the sound comes from somewhere around the pedal and the firewall. Sitting in the car it sounds like the sound comes from inside the car. Having my head close to the engine bay it sounds like it comes from the bay, like I said somewhere from the firewall. But at the drivers side of the car for sure.
Also, the sound is not always there but I would say it's there about 90% of the time.

I have a new engine with ACT2100 clutch put in at the same time but the sound was already there before my engine swap, so I would assume it has nothing to do with the clutch or the rubber boot at all. Also, my master cilinder was broken once, I couldn't get into gear anymore. It wasn't replaced but it was repaired, but the sound was also there before this happened.

What are my options for checking? What parts should I check? Where should I put some sort of oil on? (WD40 any good or something else?)
I'm not a big mechanic myself but I feel like I can fix this myself. So I hope you can be very specific on what parts I should check and where I can find them and how I can get access to them.

I'm having the same problem. I put WD-40 around pretty much everything in the clutch pedal assembly and the squeek pretty much stopped, but now I have that cracking/ pop noise when I am bringing the pedal back up. And I can feel it in the pedal too.

I had this problem in my eclipse too.

So I took a towel and covered up everything behind and above and below the clutch pedal. Then I took some wd-40 with the long straw and pushed in and sprayed the spring and let it out and sprayed the sping. Then pushed it in and keep spraying it all the way in and out.

Worked the spring like this a good 4 or 5 times.

Took care of the noise.
