Got a 190 fuel pump/fmic with piping/1g bov/1g tb/o2 dump/upgraded intake and filter/safc2 0'd out/stock injectors/14b/mbc

Seems like no matter which way I have my MBC hooked up I get 5 psi, and it takes forever to get to it. I'm at 5k getting 5 psi. I'm thinking the mbc is screwed up so I'll take it off tomorrow and see what happens. Anyone have similar probs?

I would look at your waste gate flapper make sure that the pin that holds the flapper arm is not busted. And just allowing the gate to blow open. My last Talon when I first got it did the same crap and that was the ticket. I would check that and also do a boost leak test if it were my car.

Ok, I'll check that wg arm in the morning. Then follow with a boost leak test, then test the wg by applying vacuum to see if it opens.

I'll post results tomorrow. Thanks fellas.

I dunno if the arm is the problem then almost every car I have seen that had that busted made nearly no spool sound. All though they did take for ever to spool and made next to no power when they did. I would still check it though, but I think you have a boost leak some where.

Maybe, but like I said, I'll do all the tests and post the results tomorrow. Thanks for asking because now I know if you don't hear a spool that can relate to a broken wg arm. So I learned something new, thanks.

Sounds like a loose actuator arm. Very common on 14Bs after so many years. Take off the 2 bolts that hold the actuator down and see how much it lifts off the mounting points. If this is your problem, place a washer of the right thickness under each side of the mount and see how she feels then. This is also a way to preload your WGA if you are interested in that.
Good luck.

Hey man, Take your turbo off and look down in the turbine housing for cracks,
Mine was put to all back to stack and no boost until 5k rpms, took off turbo and looked like cracks all the way down to wastegate .
Put on a new 16g and sang past corvettes again

Good tip Dan....I'm gonna do all these test within the next hours so stay tuned.

Something with the flapper. I had a 14B that had 5K oriinal miles on it and the bushing that hols the WG arm in the exhaust housing back out abot half way. It left my wastegate half open, couldnt build boost for $hit, 5 at max if lucky.

Is the actuator dented or crushed at all? It sounds exactly like what happend to me. My actuator was crushed and i needed a new one. Fixed the problem right away. But like the others do the boost leak test. And just run a vac line from the turbo to the wastegate. That should be good for 8-10psi on stock. If you cant reach that (even if it takes 5k) then you have leaks or another problem.
