i just recently overhauled the engine and added a header and udp and cam gears.and now i got her back on the road im having all kinds of other problems with my car.i have figured out the other problems and fixed them with some help from fellow members.i love this site what a help.well now with my new problem.my fuel gauge is not working right.it was on e and i put 20 in it and it didnt go past the 1/4 tank mark.and so far it hasnt seemed to move any.i have checked all fuses and all other gauges working fine.any ideas on what could be the cause of this problem.is it just the float in the tank sticking or what?i did sit in the drive way for about 6 weeks on empty basically but did have fuel stabilizer in it.

Get out your repair manual and find out which wire works the gauge down on the sending unit at the tank. Unplug that wire and have someone work the key and watch the gauge. Then ground that wire for a second and see if the needle moves to full. If it does then you have narrowed down your problem to the sending unit itself. It could be that from setting it corroded or rusted the slide mechanism on the sending unit. You may be able to pull it and clean it up or you may need to replace it.If when you ground the wire and the gauge doesnt move then you may have a problem with the cluster or a bad connection in the wiring. ( Maybe from a mouse or something. You never know) I would sooner tend to think you sending unit is the culprit. Try these steps and repost and let us know what you find. Travis
