i tried to search and couldnt find exactly what im looking for.

i am looking at a 1g 7bolt short block

i have a 90 tsi (6bolt) with a bent rod, i found info on a 6/2g 7bolt swap
but not 1g 7bolt

what will it take / or can i drop it it ??????????
 
You shouldn't have any problems. Use all electronics (CAS, ECU, harness, coil, etc.) and transmission (shifter cables, etc.) from your 90 and you'll be golden.

id say to get a 4g63 6bolt instead of getting the 7bolt since they are built better against crankwalk. i have a 7bolt now and im gonna do a swap to a 6bolt and then rebuild this 7bolt.
 
that would be pointelss going to a 7 bolt motor. They are junk, thats why everyone does the six bolt swap. Just get a good set of rods and pistons. Now for my next question, how did you bend a rod? There are many threads about 6 bolt vs. 7 bolt. Take a look at them, it will tell you why you dont want a 7 bolt. The main issue is crankwalk the 7 bolts are prone to it, it is far less likely that a six bolt with have it.

No kiddin you 3, you make it sound like all 7 bolts are absolutely terrible and they ALL crankwalk. A 7 bolt can be made just as powerful as a 6 bolt. And how many 1g 7 blocks have you actually seen crankwalk?
