[RESOLVED] battery question

alright well recently ive been getting a screeching sound from under the hood . i cant exactly pin point it but yea......

well when i was driving yesterday my battery light came on could that mean my batery is bad ? my alternator? it is winter over here so im not too sure what to do? i need to get around but i dont wanna get stuck anywhere ?

any suggestions?

If it's a screeching sound, it could be your alternator belt slipping which would cause it to not charge your battery. So yes, your battery may need to be recharged now. Try tightening the tensioner for your alternator belt and see if that helps with the "screeching." You may have already fried a few ribs on the belt so plan on replacing the belt if tightening doesn't help.

yeah its either your belt slipping, your harmonic balancer, or in my expeirence the most likely thing that will happen is here very soon your alternator is going to die
