Most ppl hate the heat shield on our cars. Some remove them and hope their alternator won't fry. Some actually do. What if we wrapped the alternator in sorta like a heat wrap? How effective would that be from killing it? Eventually some of us will get certain exhaust manifolds that you can't put a heat shield over such as DNP.

The alternator itself creates a good amount of heat depending on the load on the alternator. You would probably burn up the alternator, it needs to breathe.

The alternator uses an internal fan to cool itself. Wrapping it in anything renders the fan useless and it will cook itself even faster.

Was I saying it should cover the whole thing? No..

I meant just basically a sheet of metal between the alternator and the turbo setup. Nothing covered.
