My power steering and rad temp kept going crazy... I found out my belt was off.... when replaced with an new belt... same thing kept happening.

Turns out the pulley is bad, but I dont know what to call it, its the pulley nearest the motormount on the bottom.. I think that side has three pulleys in totall.. im talking about the one closest to the driver sides front tire. its bent to hell...

what would cause a pulley to warp?

thanks guys, im looking for the part number to it.. someone said 72252 but im not sure

Like luv2rallye said... it's commonly called a harmonic balancer, but it may also be called a vibration damper or crankshaft pulley (not to be confused with a crankshaft sprocket).

I HIGHLY suggest you buy only an OEM replacement. I bought a brand new one from O'Reilys because my stock one was dinged up, and 6 months later I replaced the new one because it separated when the rubber disintegrated.

Wouldn't hurt to replace the 4 bolts while your at it... they are critical, and the bolts could have been over-torqued/stretched if the balancer has ever been off.

I make it a habit to always replace bolts if I'm not sure of their condition, especially on critical components like the crank pulley, flywheel, etc.
