Is the automatic awd system of a 2g talon the same as the manual awd sytem of a 2g eclipse ?what is different?

The gearing is different between them. You have to change the t case and rear I believe when doing a swap.

The difference is the tranny, t case, and rear end. Also I believe the front axles are different.

The tranny and t case need to matched up (such as 95-96 or 97-99) The rear end can be a 95-99 as long as its from the 5 speed.

I have the gearbox and transfer, now i need the rest.
And a person want to sell me an automatic awd talon, and wanted to know if the rear will be the same

Rear has a different ratio than the 5 speed model.

Also, (as I just found out the hardway), we have a transmission cooler on the drivers side.

Yep. Perfect spot to throw in an oil cooler when you do a 5 speed swap.

And that's how I found out the hardway. Now I've got to sell my external oil cooler that I bought since it won't fit and I had to buy another one. *sigh* My car is just getting more and more expensive by the day.
