1.8 to 2.0 swap

Go down about half a page. Every thing you want to know is in it.

Also it's not worth the hassle. Find a 4G63T car and start from there. Sell the 4G37.

More fabrication, money, and time will be involved than that project is worth. USe the 1.8 as a DD and buy a 4g63t powered car...

I doubt you would be able to reuse most of the performance parts for an engine. If you have anything as far as suspension, gauges, etc... I'd say just buy a 4G63T car and swap the parts. I'd much rather have a good T in the garage and an 37 in the driveway for a daily driver. Insurance would be rather cheap and reliability is a big factor. Think of your current as a donor car for body and get the toy.

Well your going to have to get a 4G63T car for the wiring supension upgrades transmission (yes that is also different) ECU and all related relays & solenoids and also the fuel pump.

Man I wish you luck.

oh i havent did too much to my 37' performance wise considering there really isnt nothing you can do,
but i have painted it and got a body kit , euros, etc.... pretty much everything, so im gonna have to swap pretty much everything out,
thanks

Can you weld?

Motor mounts are different.

Yes you need to swap ECU's and most likely add some wires to the factory harness.

Is this a turbo 2.0? I've not seen you mention that so you can use your stock NT MAS.If you're sticking a turbo motor in there,(which I hope so for all that work) you'll need a turbo MAS

I just fired up my 92 NT/turbo swap car last week and the swap took me over a year with a complete donor car...I still need axles and a boost gauge. This was a relatively straight foward swap with a 10 page thread explaining how on this site and it still took me that long. You have alot of work ahead of you and I don't imagine theres a nice 10 page thread on how to do it so you're venturing into uncharted territory as far as that goes.

I say go for it if you have the stuff sittin around, too many people part these cars out and crush 'em when theres nothing wrong with it other than it has no turbo.I also have a soft spot in my heart for the 1.8's....was my first DSM,haha.

The mount are different, but were they bolt on to the frame are the same on all 1gs. You will just need the brackets off a 2.0. BTW NOT WORTH THE SWAP. Just buy a turbo 4g63.

It would be easier to swap your bodykit, interior and such onto a 4G63T car than to do the drivetrain change; do this if you are dead set on retaining the looks of your car and increasing performance. BTW, if you want to use your same suspension, you'll need to stick with a FWD turbo car; otherwise you'll need different springs & shocks for the rear at the very least.

Seriously, save yourself from one big headache , even if you complete the swap you will still just have a stock turbo car, with a platform that was not meant to be turbo in the first place.
