Ok so I'm trying to remove my crank...the motor is on a stand and I took off the rear main seal and parts, oil pan, filter, all belts all pulleys..all crank caps...now what I'm wondering is what do i need to take off on the belt side so i can lift the crank out. I've seen people hear say the gear/nut has to come off. and if you can could you supply a picture so i know we are talking about the same thing?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, put a big towel in between the block and crank so it won't turn and then take a large 1/2" breaker bar to the crank nut and go to town with it. Once you remove the crank nut everything should come out easy and be good to go.

Well after doing pushup and hand-stands on a breaker bar that was attached to the crank socket i got a really long ss pipe i had and slipped it on the end making total legnth about 4 1/2 feet and had my 275lb friend push down on it...after a while it broke free. So i took off everything on the front case (rest of the all gears) then i realized i didn't take of the middle cap on the crank (duh). Then i took a hammer (with a rubber grip end) and a mallet and put the butt of the hammer against the inside of the front case and taped the top of the hammer with the mallet. It popped loose and my friend carefully pulled the front case off and i lifted out the crank.

NOW what i didn't remember was that i had oil squirters on the bottom of the cylinders (also i wasn't working with too much lighting) and i went to knock the piston's out of the bottom of the block.....so in short i fugged up the squirter on the fourth cylinder so i'll be buying a new one. other than that everything went well
