i have a zoom stage 3 clutch and matching flywheel in my 95 gsx becauce it has to much power and keeps deystroying stock clutches. My question is why does to clutch fully engauge about 1-1.5 inches of the floor i also installed a new slave and master cylinder at the time. anyone have any ideas of how to fix this.
 
bro it is stage 3. You have one of the stiffest pressure plates you can get and i doubt you have enough power to take down a stocker. New slave and master won't do much with that situation. Going from stock to stage 3 is a huge step and hopefully you will beable to drive it easy. hey and please list your parts list. I have no idea what you are pushing through that motor.
 
My 2600 was like this, try adjusting the rod that actuates the master cylinder. There are threads on it for adjustment and a lock nut or two for safety. It's a really precarious and uncomfortable situation down under the dash, but the adjustment helped me.

There's other threads about this that I'll try to find that explain it much better than I can, but here's the just of it (for 1g, 2g is probably the same or similar). Follow the clutch pedal up and you'll see a rod that runs towards the center console. From there, you should see that rod connect to another rod that goes through the firewall (this is the one that actuates the master cylinder). This is the spot of adjustment.

Sounds confusing, but once you're under there, it'll all make sense :D

What are you trying to say?? He doesn't have a flex plate, and if he did the flex plate is used like a flywheel on auto trannies w/ torque converters and on modular clutches. I think you mean pressure plate.

You say you have stg. 3. So you got the 6-puck ceramic button disc with a stiffer pressure plate and the aluminum flywheel? I would try bleeding the hydrolics again and maybe try adjusting it like stated earlier.
 
Zoom clutches.....The pressure plate is the same one in all the stages, they just change the disc in each stage. It's 2250lbs. Not very heavy. You need the rod adjusted or the clutch fork and pivot ball are worn. Did you replace those?
 
I have a little experience with this. First, I would try bleeding the clutch properly. Next try adjusting the master cylinder rod at the pedal assembly. That should help, but might not fix it.

Usually the real reason DSM clutches fail to disengage properly with a heavier aftermarked pressure plate is becuase the flywheel step height needs adjustment. The stock step height I believe is .610. But remember that is for a stock clutch. When you change out the clutch with a stronger one (stiffer pressure plate), the ideal step height changes also, and usually you want to decrease the step height by a few thousandths. If you have the time and can afford the car to be down, I would send my flywheel and clutch assembly to Jon at TeamRip. He has a jig set up and can find your proper step height FOR THAT CLUTCH and cut your flywheel.

Which is slightly heavier than the stock pressure plate.
 
It was my understanding that upgrading to performance clutch would make the clutch engage with the pedal much closer to the floor. My ACT 2100 is about the same. 1-2 inches off the floor. And that's with my clutch pedal adjusted via the threaded rod under the dash near the firewall.
