Well I had just got my talon and i did all the matinence on it except the timing belts and replace turbo since its slowly leaking oil. I did the oil last night and cranked it up and waited checked to see it it was leaking and saw nothing and checked again just to make sure Transfer case wasn't leaking either. Went for a drive around town and oil pressure was fine driving around and when i was on my way back to the house the oil pressure was looking low on the stock gauge (better one on the way. So i get to the house and check the oil and the thing is below minimum. Look again and now oil is all around the filter i read about tightening the screw with a 23mm. My question is what test can i do to see if the engine is messed up because of low oil?

Thanks

My car has bad valve seals and uses a lot of oil. I slip up sometimes and forget to stay on top of it but unless you are driving it hard while it is low like that and add oil ASAP then you shouldn't have messed anything up. I mean are you experiencing knocking or ticking now. It would of course be emanating from inside the motor.

My galant is doing the same thing as yours and its a real pain in the butt. I cranked it up and i didnt hear any knocking other than the noisy lifters. I will keep watch over it for a while. The P/S pump and lines are next out because they have started to leak. Thanks
