DIY intake

Your profile shows that you have the stock UICP. I think the site below sells a cold air intake that will work for that setup, but I'd call them to make sure. Once you go to an aftermarket UICP, the cold air intake won't fit anymore (you'd have to cut it to conform to the new UICP). It's referred to as a "Heat Shield" on the site...8th item down.

The darn thing won't fit even with the air filter off the end pieces are too long. What can I use to grind them down?

Sorry I missed this back in December. Did you figure something out or are you still working on it?

Still working on it i'm lazy I guess. I tried getting it to fit last time I re-oiled my K&N but couldn't get it to fit even with the MAS and Air filter off. Perhaps I have one for a 1G? I'll take some photos once i'm off work.

Circled are the areas that are too large. WHen connected to the MAS and the intake the ends of the plate bend and can not fit.

Just take some sand paper or some sheet metal shears and keep taking off a little bit at a time and keep test fitting it until it fits the way you want it to
